CeeDee Lamb was one of few wideouts left standing for the Dallas Cowboys after an eventful offseason. One that saw the team trade away their number one wideout, Amari Cooper. They also lost Cedrick Wilson to free agency and re-signed Michael Gallup to a large five-year contract. Oh, and James Washington was signed to give them a little more help. The only player that didn’t really see a major change is Lamb.
Apparently, Dak Prescott is a big fan of what Lamb is able to do in this offense. So much so, that he believes Lamb will have no problem taking over the role that Cooper had the past few years. When asked if Lamb was ready, he said, “Yeah, there’s no doubt he is. I think that’s the best part of that move. You look at a guy like CeeDee and what he’s done in his first two years, it’s exciting. He hasn’t really scratched the surface. Just for him to be the one, to be the main guy, I know he’s going to be ready for it. I know he’s already doing the things he needs to do that are necessary to have a great season.”
CeeDee Lamb Is Coming Off A Nice Season
Lamb had 79 receptions for 1,102 receiving yards and six touchdowns a year ago. He led the team in most categories in this department. To put it into perspective, Cooper put together just 68 receptions for 865 yards and eight touchdowns. Lamb also missed a game and a half with a concussion, which makes those numbers even more impressive with such a loaded wide receiver core.
Dallas thinks that they have their true number one weapon at the wideout position. Lamb seems to be ready to take over these new responsibilities. We may have all thought that Dallas has no idea what they are doing the past couple of weeks. However, this just shows their confidence in what they have on the roster already.
