Russell Wilson Gets Traded to the Denver Broncos

Russell Wilson trade rumors have been flying around for weeks now but it has finally happened. The Seattle Seahawks decided that they were going to trade their superstar quarterback to the Denver Broncos in exchange for a massive haul of players and picks. Some reports say that the Washington Commanders had offered a large deal to Seattle. Although, they refused because they didn’t want Wilson in their conference.

At the end of the deal, Denver gave Seattle a lot to be excited about. Drew Lock, Shelby Harris and Noah Fant were the players included in the deal. Additionally, two first round picks, two second round picks and a fifth-round pick were thrown in. However, it should be noted that it hasn’t been made official just yet. The expectation is that it will be when the new league year begins on March 16th. Though Wilson does still have to pass a physical exam and waive his no-trade clause first.

League Outlook After Russell Wilson Trade

The addition of Wilson to this roster suddenly makes them championship contenders. They have one of the best wide receiver groups in the league with Jerry Jeudy, Courtland Sutton and Tim Patrick on the roster.

Seattle initially didn’t want to move Wilson unless they got an offer which they considered to be “transformational.” It only made sense that they received Lock in return. Let’s face it, Geno Smith is not their long-term answer at the position. Shelby Harris is a nice defensive tackle to have as well. The most important player included in my opinion was Noah Fant. Mostly because the team hasn’t had a truly reliable player at the position yet. They have had strong players at tight end. The problem was that none were able to change the game like Fant has the potential too.

This upcoming season is bound to be great. The AFC West is going to turn into the most watched division this year as well. Patrick Mahomes, Derek Carr, Justin Herbert and Russell Wilson all sharing the same division is a sight I never thought I would see.
