NFL players can often times get frustrated with their current environments. This forced poor play and just an unhappy situation all-around. Now that we are heading into the offseason, we will take a look at five players that will probably benefit from heading to a different team.
NFL Players That Need to Leave
The first one is Christian Kirk. The Arizona Cardinals receiver is definitely expected to re-sign with the team when his rookie contract officially runs out. However, there are a lot of rumors with Kyler Murray going on. The Cardinals might even take a step back from their 11-win season that they just had. If Kirk were to leave and look around in free agency, he could quickly become a number one wideout somewhere. Places like the Chicago Bears, New Orleans Saints, Jacksonville Jaguars and the New York Jets could all use him.
The next one of these NFL players is JuJu Smith-Schuster. JuJu badly wants to remain a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers for the rest of his career. The only issue is that he has a very high asking price for his next contract. The one-year deal that he just signed really didn’t work out that well for him, as he got injured for the majority of the year. On top of that, would it really be wise for him to come back with Diontae Johnson and Chase Claypool likely taking snaps away from him. All while Mason Rudolph is throwing him the football. While it would be a great loyalty move, he wouldn’t have great numbers there.

Number three, Rob Gronkowski. There are a lot of people out there that are still waiting on Gronk to just come out and announce his retirement now that Tom Brady isn’t there anymore. However, he hasn’t yet. So, if he were to keep on playing, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers aren’t the best spot for him. They have a lot of quarterback controversy and maybe some lurking issues with their head coach Bruce Arians. Gronk also mentioned that he would love to catch touchdown passes from Joe Burrow on the Cincinnati Bengals. Maybe he’d go there?
Surprising Additions to this List
Number four, Von Miller. Yes, this is probably the most outrageous one on the list but hear me out. The only reason I have him here is because he is already cemented as one of the greatest players of all-time. He has two Super Bowl victories and a Super Bowl MVP award. Everybody knows how great his legacy is. So, why take another small contract? When he could go to a different team and get paid a lot of money for when he eventually retires.
Number five, Leonard Fournette. The Buccaneers are no longer a lock to make it into the postseason like they were in the past. With Brady gone and Gronk thinking about going elsewhere, Fournette could follow right out the door. Ronald Jones is also a free agent, the backup running back on the Buccaneers, so a choice may have to be made. Still, Tampa Bay has a lot of money thrown elsewhere. Leaving little room for them to really pay Fournette the money he deserves. They won’t be able to bribe him in with championship aspirations this season. Going somewhere else may be nice for him, as a payday awaits him somewhere.
