Kenny Moore Questions Why Colts Are at Pro Bowl

Kenny Moore was one of the stars of the Indianapolis Colts this past season. The 2021 Colts campaign didn’t exactly go as the team was expecting. They started the year off slow, only to make a huge late season push. Then, in the very last game of the season against the Jacksonville Jaguars, they lost 26-11 and saw their playoff hopes die. Now that the season is over, Moore was one of the few players that spoke out about his recent time in the Pro Bowl.

Moore said, “We were eating breakfast and it was a table full of Colts, and I’m just like, why are we here?” Along with Moore in the Pro Bowl was center Ryan Kelly, linebacker Darius Leonard, running back Jonathan Taylor, defensive tackle DeForest Buckner and long snapper Luke Rhodes. Left guard Quenton Nelson was also there but didn’t actually play in the game.

Moore said that he felt the disappointment further into the day as well. Saying, “There was another time when we were taking pictures after Saturday’s practice — it was the last practice before we go to the game. We took a group picture, and I was just like, dang, we have all this talent.”

What’s Next for Kenny Moore and the Colts?

The Colts are entering into this new season with a lot of questions left to answer. Specifically, regarding the future of their quarterback position. Carson Wentz wasn’t horrible. However, reports have been indicating that the team is thinking about moving on from him after just one year. Apparently, fans blame him for the final game collapse. They have more work to do besides just a quarterback though. The team should also be focusing on building up the wide receiver room. Grabbing some other talented players on the defensive line outside of Buckner could also help. They have even been linked to some offensive linemen to keep their quarterback protected.

Kenny isn’t the only player to be surprised about the Colts missing the postseason this past year either. Owner Jim Irsay wasn’t very happy about not making a playoff appearance himself. Usually when that happens, big changes are around the corner.
