The NFL world was set ablaze this morning when news broke that Tom Brady was going to retire from the league for good. ESPN was the first to launch the big news. Though the sources that they got the information from were unnamed. Adam Schefter also reported it. Followed by every other social media outlet.

It was looking like the end of an era. He would join Ben Roethlisberger, Drew Brees, Eli Manning and Philip Rivers among recently retired quarterbacks. However, he isn’t even close to making a retirement decision just yet.

Both the coach and the general manager of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers denied the reports of his retirement. They were not informed of any decision Brady had made. Even Tom’s agent came out and said that the reports were premature.

On top of all of that, Tom Brady saw his father come out and say with certainty that his son has yet to make a decision about his NFL future.

Is the Tom Brady News Shocking??

This news isn’t entirely surprising. Brady is the oldest quarterback in the league and older than a majority of NFL coaches nowadays. Rumors about him potentially retiring have been circling the last couple of weeks as well. Getting stronger after the Buccaneers lost to the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Round.

Brady may still retire any day now. For now, he hasn’t made a decision. There is simply no way that he would make a decision like this and not inform other coaches or even his father. When he is ready, he is likely going to be the one to announce this decision, not a media outlet. The cause of this fake report is still unknown.
